DOE Webcast May 27 for State and Local Officials: Third-Party Financing for Public Sector PV Projects
    May 18, 2009

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Technical Assistance Project (TAP) for state and local officials is offering a webcast on how to structure power purchase agreements for photovoltaic (PV) projects at state and local facilities. The presentation will take place Wednesday, May 27, from 3:00 to 4:15 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, and is titled “Third-Party Financing and Power Purchase Agreements for Public Sector PV Projects.”

The presenters will be Jason Coughlin from the DOE National Renewable Energy Laboratory, who works with Solar America Cities, and Ann Livingston from the Commissioner’s Office in Boulder County, Colorado, who will talk about who they have structured financing for on specific PV projects.

The webcast is free of charge, but you must register in advance to obtain a URL for the presentation and call-in phone number. You can register online, find more information about the presenters, and read background materials and reports on the TAP Webcast section of the DOE Weatherization and Intergovernmental Program Web site.

APPLE relayed this to city and county officials. What they need now is some urging from constituents…

Van Jones’ book is well worth reading. Among other things, he mentions that a simple caulking gun could be among the most important tools in the new green collar jobs economy.
